1. ‘Where do you live?’ -> She asked me where I lived .
2. ‘Who is your favorite singer?’ -> He asked Mary who her favorite singer was .
3. ‘Are you married ?’ -> He asked Susan if she was married .
4. ‘Has your father retired yet?’ -> She asked James if his father had retired yet .
5. ‘We have lived here for six years’. -> He told me that they had lived there for six years .
6. ‘Why didn’t you finish your studies?’ -> She asked Mary why she had not finished her studies .
7. ‘I saw this film two weeks ago.’ -> He said that he had seen that film two weeks before .
8. ‘You should have a rest.’ -> The doctor advises the patient that he should have a rest .
9. ‘What about going to the beach?’ -> She suggested going to the beach 
Several answers are accepted here: «going to the beach», «we went to the beach».
10. ‘Don’t switch on the TV!’ -> The mother told her son not to switch on the TV .

Ex. 2

1. ‘I am very tired.’ She said she was  very tired.
2. ‘You play the piano very well.’ Mr Jones told me I played  the piano very well.
3. ‘Can you give us a hand?’ They asked if we could  give them a hand.
4. ‘We ‘re leaving the town.’ He told me they were leaving  the town.
5. ‘He hasn’t shaved.’ I noticed that he hadn’t shaved .
6. ‘Your parents have had an accident.’ Sally rang to say that your parents had had  an accident.
7. ‘I left home at seventeen.’ Her letter said that she had left  home at seventeen.
8. ‘Don’t worry! He won’t say anything to the police’. I was sure he wouldn’t say  anything to the police.
9. ‘None of our relatives will come.’ They knew none of their relatives would come .
10. ‘This parcel has been opened at the customs.’ I could see the parcel had been opened  at the customs.
