Religious discrimination occurs when a person is treated differently or unfairly because of their religion. This may include denying someone a job, education, or services because of their beliefs. It can happen in schools, workplaces, public institutions, or society in general. Religious discrimination can affect people’s rights, dignity, and opportunities. For example, refusing to hire someone because they wear religious clothing, preventing people from practicing their religion freely and so on.
Some common causes of Religious Discrimination which can have negative effects are: lack of knowledge about other religions, stereotypes and prejudice, cultural misunderstandings, fear of differences. And the negative effects: social conflicts, emotional harm and stress, inequality in opportunities, division in society.
